Intensive Courses – Master’s Thesis and its Relevance to Academic Writing Style

This is a short-term intensive course which aims to assist you during the process of writing you Master’s Thesis/ Project. Specifically, it enables you to:

  • Know and understand the specifics of academic writing;
  • Adhere to the academic standards in your thesis/project;
  • Prepare and effectively present your research results.

Course registration will begin on May 21 and end on May 28. Seminars start on June 01 and will continue until the defense of Master’s Thesis. Teachers from the Academic Writing Center will conduct 1 two-hour long seminars on a weekly basis using Zoom or Google Hangout platform. Participants will be provided with relevant material on Moodle prior to each seminar.

During the seminars we will review all important elements of the Master’s Thesis. You will discuss particular components from the thesis paper, typical problems and common errors. You will also formulate the ways and means to improve your texts linguistically and stylistically and will reflect on the possibilities of effective presentation and delivery.

Keep in mind that this course is relevant and beneficial only if you engage consistently and intensively.  Doing homework systematically is very important and so is editing the text based on feedback.
